Facilities Coordinator & Drone Custodian

About the role

The Facilities Coordinator & Drone Custodian ensures the accountability, maintenance, security, and administrative oversight of aviation facilities and assigned unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This role supports aviation operations by keeping facilities and drone assets in optimal condition and compliant with relevant policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accountability for all facilities, buildings, hangars, warehouses, offices, and support infrastructure assigned to the program.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Environmental, and Health staff to identify needs, schedule work, and ensure OSHA and ADA compliance.
• Conduct routine facility inspections, record deficiencies, and coordinate repairs or improvements with contractors and vendors.
• Monitor utility services (electrical, water, fuel, communications, backup power) and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, fire prevention, and occupational health requirements.
• Manage storage areas, track government‑furnished property and contractor‑owned equipment, and support construction or renovation projects.
• Assist with emergency response planning and maintain access‑control procedures.
• Perform handyman tasks, minor repairs, installations, and equipment moves.
• Maintain accountability for all assigned UAS platforms, payloads, batteries, chargers, spare parts, and support equipment.
• Conduct pre‑use and post‑use drone inspections, perform routine maintenance, software/firmware updates, and battery management.
• Maintain drone maintenance logs, flight records, inventory records, and custody documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in facilities management and maintenance.
• Familiarity with OSHA and ADA regulations.
• Ability to perform hands‑on repair and handyman tasks.
• Experience with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) maintenance and documentation.
