International Asset Forfeiture Advisor

About the role

The International Asset Forfeiture Advisor will support the U.S. Embassy Lima’s INL Organized Crime Program in strengthening Peru’s asset forfeiture system. This contract position is based at the U.S. Embassy in Lima and works closely with U.S. and Peruvian law‑enforcement and justice officials.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on asset forfeiture investigations, prosecutions and asset seizure processes.
• Mentor and train Peruvian judicial, police and prosecutorial personnel on best practices and legal frameworks.
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies, regulations and procedural manuals related to asset forfeiture.
• Collaborate with U.S. Department of State and local partners to monitor progress and address challenges in the forfeiture system.
• Prepare reports, briefings and recommendations for senior officials.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in asset forfeiture, anti‑money‑laundering, or related legal fields.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural environments and with government agencies.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Willingness to travel within Peru as needed.
