About the role

BlueOrchard is seeking an Investment Professional to join its regional investment team in Lima, Peru. The role focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and executing debt investment opportunities primarily in financial institutions across Latin America, with a strong emphasis on social impact and ESG outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, structure, and present debt investment opportunities to the Credit Committee, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and social return objectives.
• Conduct desk reviews and on‑site financial analysis, ESG and social impact assessments of existing and prospective investees, mainly financial institutions.
• Plan, lead, and execute due‑diligence visits, including country and credit risk analysis.
• Mentor and collaborate with local investment officers, contributing to the development of investment and credit analysis processes and tools.
• Prepare comprehensive investment proposals and documentation for investment committee approval.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience assessing financial institutions, preferably within a credit rating agency, banking environment, or SME‑focused financial entity.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience working in the Latin America region.
• Proven track record in performing financial due diligence, credit risk assessments, and debt investment analysis.
• Experience evaluating social impact and ESG factors in investment decisions.
• Strong problem‑solving, presentation, and communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
