Logistics Operator

About the role

The Logistics Operator will manage end‑to‑end physical shipments for refined metals, working closely with an international team of traders, suppliers and service providers. The role combines operational logistics, risk mitigation and financial documentation to ensure smooth and compliant trade flows.

Key responsibilities

• Daily written and verbal communication with suppliers, receivers and logistics partners.
• Coordinate shipments with customers and suppliers, arranging customs clearance for imports and exports.
• Prepare, issue and manage all shipping documents, invoices and payment terms (CAD, L/C, bank collections, open account).
• Issue certificates of insurance, handle incoterms and LME pricing orders.
• Mediate claims, coordinate inspections, sampling and assaying of products.
• Organise multimodal transport (vessel, truck, rail) and obtain freight quotes.
• Calculate demurrage/dispatch, maintain credit lines, shipping lists and exposure sheets.
• Reconcile inventory by comparing warehouse stock reports with internal systems.
• Maintain and update the Balsamo logistics system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of logistics experience in a trading company.
• Fluent verbal and written English for daily interaction with international teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Balsamo logistics system.
• Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and incoterms.
• Experience handling LME pricing orders and related documentation.
• Ability to prepare and manage shipping documents, invoices and insurance certificates.
