Managing Director, Americas

About the role

The Managing Director, Americas leads Rainforest Alliance’s regional strategy, overseeing growth and impact across South and Central America. Reporting to senior executive leadership, this senior market‑facing role is responsible for the regional P&L, program delivery and coordination with global functions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive execution of the 2030 Strategy in each country, adapting goals to local contexts.
• Lead a team of Country Directors, ensuring operational performance and identification of growth opportunities.
• Expand impact and revenue through Rainforest Alliance products, certification programs, and new business partnerships.
• Promote regenerative agriculture, climate initiatives, nature‑based solutions, and sustainable forest management.
• Manage donor‑funded programs, aligning them with regional priorities and ensuring effective delivery.
• Represent the organization with government authorities, industry associations, private‑sector partners and multilateral donors.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in agriculture, environment or sustainability sectors.
• Track record of managing multi‑country teams and regional P&L responsibility.
• Strong ability to develop and execute strategic plans in complex stakeholder environments.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills with senior‑level government and private‑sector leaders.
