Pastry Teaching Chef – Academic Culinary Team

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Pastry Teaching Chef to join our academic culinary team in Lima, Peru. This full-time, on-site position combines technical excellence with mentorship, guiding students through theory and hands‑on pastry training in a professional kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging theoretical and practical pastry classes aligned with the approved curriculum.
• Prepare demonstrations, practical sessions, assessments and academic materials, ensuring consistency of recipes, yields and technical sheets.
• Supervise students during practical sessions, enforcing proper technique, hygiene, organization and professional conduct.
• Apply and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP standards.
• Evaluate student performance through continuous and final assessments and monitor attendance and academic progress.
• Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions and institutional events, representing the institution professionally when required.

Required profile

• Formal training in French pastry from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 10 years of professional pastry experience post‑graduation.
• At least 3 years in a senior pastry leadership role within 4‑ or 5‑star hotels, luxury restaurants or comparable high‑performance environments.
• Strong leadership and communication skills in practical learning settings.
• Professional working proficiency in Spanish.
• International experience and/or prior teaching experience highly valued.

Required skills

• Classical and contemporary French pastry techniques.
• Knowledge of kitchen safety, GMP and HACCP systems.
