PD&P Engineer – Mining & Metals

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a PD&P Engineer to support mining and metals projects in Lima. The role involves generating technical specifications, reviewing piping materials and valve selections, and performing calculations to ensure compliance with industry codes.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and review technical specifications for piping and valve systems.
• Perform pipe wall thickness and branch connection calculations according to ANSI/ASME codes.
• Prepare cost estimates, quantity take‑offs, and material requisitions.
• Review vendor drawings, evaluate supplier offers, and make award recommendations.
• Supervise plant and piping layout designs using Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or international equivalent).
• 5‑8 years of experience in mining & metals piping engineering, or 9‑12 years of related experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 codes and ANSI/ASME compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 code applications.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with 3D CAD/CAE tools for engineering design.
• Ability to perform pipe wall thickness and branch connection calculations.
