Piping Designer (3D Plant Modeling)

About the role

The Piping Designer will join the Coroccohuayco project team to create detailed 3D plant models and piping layouts for a new open‑pit copper mine expansion. The role involves translating engineering concepts into accurate 3D designs and producing the required 2D documentation with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models of piping and equipment layouts using SP3D (or S3D) in a collaborative environment.
• Prepare General Arrangement, elevation, and isometric drawings from the 3D model.
• Coordinate model inputs, resolve interferences, and ensure alignment with other disciplines.
• Work closely with PD&P engineers and designers to meet project standards and regulations.
• Review and approve key PD&P engineering drawings and related documents.
• Plan, develop, and review design work within a small PD&P design group on medium‑size projects.

Required profile

• Strong background in multidiscipline 3D plant modelling, preferably with S3D experience.
• Ability to create piping layouts, extract 2D orthographic and isometric drawings, and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Capable of collaborating with other designers and disciplines under minimal supervision.

Required skills

• SP3D (or S3D) 3D plant modelling.
• Piping layout design.
• General Arrangement and elevation drawing preparation.
• Isometric drawing generation.
• Interference reconciliation and model coordination.
• Knowledge of PD&P engineering standards.
