Postdoctoral researcher in chemical biology (peptide therapeutics)

About the role

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to develop innovative chemical strategies for modifying peptide therapeutics, aiming to enhance their stability and activity in vivo. The project focuses on creating cleavable linkages that release active peptides and on locally modifying native peptides to resist enzymatic degradation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and synthesize novel cleavable linkages for peptide activation.
• Develop site‑specific chemical modifications of native peptides to improve enzymatic stability.
• Conduct synthetic organic chemistry experiments on peptide substrates.
• Perform protein chemical modification and peptide medicinal chemistry studies.
• Teach and supervise undergraduate or graduate students as required.
• Collaborate with the Department of Chemistry on related research activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in peptide synthesis and organic chemistry.
• Strong interest in medicinal chemistry and therapeutic peptide development.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to teaching duties.
