Process & Water Operations Manager

About the role

Newmont Peru is seeking a seasoned manager to lead the Process & Water Operations at the Yanacocha mine. The role focuses on delivering safe, efficient, and socially responsible processing while ensuring reliable water management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Translate the site’s strategic vision into actionable processing plans that integrate with mining and technical services.
• Oversee day‑to‑day processing operations, balancing safety, cost, production, sustainability, and schedule targets.
• Identify operational, technical, and safety challenges, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation plans.
• Manage resources—including personnel, budget, and equipment—to meet the operational plan.
• Drive continuous improvement, apply new technologies, and embed best practices in processing.
• Supervise a team of operators, technicians, and supervisors to achieve production goals.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in mining processing or water operations.
• Strong safety mindset with experience conducting safety audits.
• Ability to align strategic objectives with operational execution.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and experience managing complex technical challenges.
