Product/UX Designer – Cross-Platform News Platform

About the role

Haystack News is looking for an experienced Product/UX Designer to shape the viewer experience across all device surfaces. You will work hands‑on in a small, fast‑moving team to increase engagement, improve retention, and make the product more enjoyable for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end design for new features on iOS, Android, web, connected TV and automotive platforms.
• Translate product goals into clear flows, wireframes and high‑quality UI, using research insights and data.
• Design experiences that boost discovery, enjoyment and long‑term retention.
• Collaborate with founders, engineering and QA to scope projects, validate assumptions and ensure designs are implemented as intended.
• Contribute to the cross‑platform design system, adding components, patterns and visual standards.
• Prototype solutions, run quick tests, evaluate experiments and iterate based on results.

Required profile

• 4+ years designing consumer digital products with a strong portfolio that includes mobile, web or CTV work.
• Experience in media or streaming is a plus.
• Hands‑on execution: able to take concepts through to implementation.
• Systems and product thinking: connect product goals to simple, thoughtful experiences.
• Data‑informed: rely on user insights, feedback and metrics to iterate.
