Project Engineer – Wind Energy

About the role

Statkraft is looking for a Project Engineer specialized in wind energy to lead all turbine‑related technical matters throughout the project lifecycle. You will work on a portfolio of Latin‑American wind projects, primarily in Peru, and support initiatives in Chile and Brazil.

Key responsibilities

• Lead wind turbine technical topics from feasibility through execution, commissioning and handover, ensuring technical integrity and risk control.
• Manage wind turbine supply and electromechanical subcontractors, overseeing contractual conditions, inspections, test plans, factory and site acceptance tests, and corrective actions.
• Develop and coordinate technical interfaces between turbine suppliers, balance‑of‑plant contractors, grid operators, designers, construction and commissioning teams.
• Drive RFP processes, preparing technical specifications, evaluating proposals, drafting contract appendices and supporting commercial negotiations.
• Provide technical support for project development, validating construction and operation documents, and ensuring readiness for governance gates.
• Oversee turbine quality and performance, approving mechanical and commissioning completions, conducting conformity tests and final inspections.
• Supervise execution, testing and commissioning activities, guaranteeing compliance with standards, supplier obligations and project safety requirements.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical or related) with proven experience in wind turbine projects.
• Strong understanding of turbine design, electromechanical systems and project lifecycle management.
• Ability to manage multiple technical interfaces and subcontractors across different countries.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess technical proposals, risk and compliance.
