Project Engineer Wind

About the role

Statkraft is looking for a Project Engineer Wind in Lima to lead all wind turbine technical topics across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility through execution, commissioning and handover. The role governs turbine quality, design and interface management, and supports projects mainly in Peru, with contributions to projects in Chile and Brazil when required.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and own wind turbine technical topics from early feasibility through execution, commissioning and handover, ensuring technical integrity, compliance and risk control.
• Manage wind turbine supply and electromechanical subcontractors, including technical contractual conditions, execution follow-up, inspection and test plans, factory and site acceptance tests, and closure of deviation action plans.
• Develop and manage technical interfaces between turbine suppliers, BoP contractors, grid, owner's engineering, designers, construction and commissioning teams, aligned with schedule, cost and quality targets.
• Lead and support RFP processes: technical specifications, instructions to bidders, technical proposal evaluation, contract technical appendices and technical support during commercial negotiations.
• Support project development and pipeline projects by validating technical documents for construction and operation, supporting governance decision gates and mitigating risks before execution.
• Oversee turbine quality and performance, approving Mechanical Completion, Commissioning Completion, trial and Taking Over documentation, conformity tests, final inspections and contractual performance and availability verification.
• Supervise execution, testing and commissioning, ensuring compliance with standards, supplier obligations and project safety and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in engineering, construction and execution of wind projects.
• Experience in project management, governance and contract execution.
• Experience managing suppliers and engineering companies.
• Fluent English and Spanish; ability to work in international and multicultural environments.
