Regional Sales Manager

About the role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the sales of Special Steels products within the Peruvian mining sector, including mining companies, equipment repair operations, fabrication workshops, and subcontractors. This role focuses on developing strategic relationships, promoting wear‑resistant steel solutions, identifying new applications and business opportunities, and expanding SSAB's presence across the Peruvian mining market. The position is based in Arequipa, Peru.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with mining customers and key accounts.
• Visit and educate customers on the correct application of SSAB steels together with the Technical Development Manager.
• Develop new wear‑related applications and business opportunities.
• Establish short‑ and long‑term sales strategies for the mining segment while supporting the Hardox Wearparts network and local fabrication partners.
• Manage customer demand, sales forecasts, and material availability to ensure high service levels and satisfaction.
• Strengthen SSAB's market presence through customer engagement, industry events, technical presentations, and business development activities.
• Maintain accurate reporting, forecasting, and account management while collaborating with cross‑functional teams such as Sales, Supply Chain, Technical, Marketing, and Finance.

Required profile

• Engineering bachelor’s degree with sales experience in a related product field or comparable skill development.
• Current residence in Arequipa.
• Knowledge of market dynamics within the Peruvian mining business.
• Experience handling large accounts, interacting with senior management and purchasing departments.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including proposal writing and relationship building.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Availability to travel up to 60% of the time and work 80% of the time in the Arequipa zone (South of Peru).

Required skills

• Familiarity with steel fabrication processes and mining‑related industrial applications.
• Basic financial knowledge.
