Senior Accountant – Hospitality Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a Senior Accountant with a focus on the hospitality industry. The role supports multiple client properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month‑end closes, and strong internal controls in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive month‑end and year‑end close processes, preparing P&L and Balance Sheet statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Streamline balance‑sheet reconciliations and manage increasing volume as new clients are onboarded.
• Handle journal entries, financial reporting, and account reconciliations across multiple properties or client accounts.
• Utilize hospitality and accounting platforms (e.g., Opera, Sertifi, Toast) to process daily financial data and optimize workflows.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, internal controls, and client service delivery.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property accounting, or outsourced accounting services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, journal entries, and full‑cycle account reconciliations.
• Experience with hospitality‑specific systems such as Opera, Sertifi, or Toast.
• Familiarity with Acumatica, Ottimate, or ProfitSword is a plus.
• Self‑starter with high accountability and ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.
