Senior Accountant – Hospitality Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a versatile Senior Accountant to support its fast‑growing portfolio of hospitality clients. The role is client‑facing and requires ownership of month‑end closes, balance‑sheet management, and internal controls across multiple properties.

Key responsibilities

• Drive month‑end and year‑end close processes, preparing accurate P&L and Balance Sheet statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Streamline balance‑sheet reconciliation as client volume increases.
• Manage journal entries, financial reporting, and workload balancing across multiple properties or client accounts.
• Utilize hospitality and accounting platforms to process daily financial data and improve workflow efficiency.
• Identify and implement process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and deliver clear service to client stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property accounting, or outsourced accounting services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, journal entries, and full‑cycle reconciliations.
• Experience with hospitality systems such as Opera, Sertifi, or Toast is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Acumatica, Ottimate, and ProfitSword is a major plus.
• Self‑starter with high accountability, able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
