Senior Logistics Operator

About the role

Greenwich Metals (GMI) is seeking a Senior Logistics Operator to manage the end‑to‑end execution of physical shipments of refined metals. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, customers, and service providers in a fast‑paced, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administer contracts and maintain daily communication with suppliers, receivers, and logistics partners.
• Arrange customs clearance for imports and exports and prepare all shipping documentation.
• Issue and manage invoices, payment terms, letters of credit, and certificates of insurance.
• Obtain freight quotes, coordinate multimodal shipments, and calculate demurrage/dispatch.
• Maintain credit lines, shipping lists, debtor reports, and exposure sheets.
• Reconcile inventory reports from warehouses with internal systems.
• Handle claims, inspections, sampling, and assaying, acting as liaison between all parties.
• Use the Balsamo system for contract creation, P&L tracking, and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics or operations, preferably in commodities.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) for daily interaction with traders and internal teams.
• Strong numerical literacy and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
