Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Lycopodium is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Engineering team in San Isidro. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will deliver accurate and compliant mechanical design deliverables for mineral processing and metallurgical plant projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review project mechanical drawings to ensure full compliance with design intent.
• Perform engineering design calculations and produce detailed technical documentation, including scopes of work and specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and scopes, identifying variations and preparing related documentation.
• Support the drafting team in preparing drawing deliverables.
• Generate engineering lists, material take‑offs, and equipment specifications.
• Evaluate tenders, provide technical recommendations, and review vendor‑certified documentation.
• Maintain and file all engineering documentation according to company procedures.
• Stay updated on industry codes, standards, and project‑specific engineering matters.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet design criteria and project deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and support team members to ensure project success.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 + years post‑graduate experience in mineral processing or metallurgical plant design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
