About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join Kyndryl’s mainframe modernization team. You will design, build and maintain high‑volume business logic on legacy mainframe systems while enabling seamless integration with modern cloud and mobile applications.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and optimise mainframe architecture to maintain performance and prevent code decay.
- Debug, troubleshoot and test complex system interactions to keep mission‑critical applications running.
- Extract and refactor business logic from legacy codebases for migration or integration with cloud services.
- Collaborate with global experts to share knowledge and drive modernization initiatives.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a software engineer on complex projects.
- Strong coding abilities in languages such as Java, Python or .Net.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and building scalable, robust solutions.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON and REST APIs.
Required skills
- Object‑oriented programming and design patterns.
- Microservices architecture, containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and messaging queues.
- Cloud platforms – Azure, AWS, Google Cloud (certifications optional).
- DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
