Software Engineer - Senior (Advanced English)

About the role

PCI Energy Solutions is seeking a senior software engineer with advanced English skills to join its Lima office. You will work on high‑impact energy‑sector platforms, ensuring they are performant, scalable, and maintainable.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend Java services with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce best coding practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production performance and scalability issues.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and help adopt new tools and processes.
• Maintain robust testing and continuous integration pipelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing Java backend applications.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or the ELK Stack.
• Strong documentation and presentation abilities.
• Solid grasp of software architecture, design patterns, and OOP.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and micro‑services architecture.
• Knowledge of system scalability, performance tuning, and security best practices.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Availability to work onsite Tuesday‑Thursday in Magdalena, Lima.
• Advanced level of English.
