Spanish Teacher – Maternity Leave Coverage (Nov 2026 – Apr 2027)

About the role

The school is seeking a qualified High School Spanish Teacher to cover a maternity leave period from November 2026 to April 2027. The successful candidate will join a creative and student‑focused team, delivering advanced Spanish language literacy and critical analysis to Grades 9‑10 within an International Baccalaureate (IB) framework.

Key responsibilities

• Teach the IB Spanish A: Language and Literature (SL) course and other Spanish A offerings for Grades 9‑10.
• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that develop students’ reading, writing, and analytical skills in Spanish.
• Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and effective communication.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum with IB standards and school objectives.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback in English.

Required profile

• Creative, versatile, and highly motivated educator with a student‑centered approach.
• Fluent in both Spanish and English, as the working language of the school is English.
• Experience teaching IB Spanish courses or equivalent advanced language programs is preferred.
• Commitment to fostering critical thinkers and effective communicators.

Required skills
