Staff Cloud Engineer – OpenShift & AWS

About the role

Qualifacts is seeking a Staff Cloud Engineer to manage and secure a hybrid IT infrastructure that spans on‑premises data centers and AWS cloud. The role involves deploying new components, monitoring releases, and maintaining detailed runbooks while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. The position works on‑site in Lima two days a week, with the remainder remote.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain application software across on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with peers to deploy and release updated software versions.
• Ensure installations and updates follow Change Control policies.
• Develop and maintain application configurations and runbook documentation.
• Evaluate, test and install patches to keep systems performant and secure.
• Research and recommend tools and technologies aligned with business needs.
• Monitor and fine‑tune systems proactively to prevent issues.
• Review system audit logs regularly to maintain security.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field.
• Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.
• Solid experience with Linux operating systems.
• Proven experience managing AWS services.

Required skills

• OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes container platforms.
• AWS cloud services.
• Java application support.
• Apache Tomcat or Oracle Application Server.
• Bash and Python scripting.
• Automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
