Structural BIM Modeller - Airport Projects

About the role

AECOM is hiring a Structural BIM modeller for airport projects to work in its Lima, Peru offices. The role suits an early-career civil engineer focused on structural BIM modelling and drawing production, taking part in design deliverables for complex building projects such as airports, hospitals and large-scale terminals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop structural BIM models under the supervision of structural engineers, ensuring consistency with the analytical model, calculations and technical documentation.
• Produce complete structural packages (model plus drawings) and support the quality, consistency and constructability of the design.
• Model reinforced concrete and steel elements, including construction details needed for construction documentation.
• Generate structural drawings from the BIM model (formwork, reinforcement, details, sections).
• Interpret sketches, calculation notes and structural engineer guidelines and support their graphical implementation.
• Take part in interdisciplinary coordination (architecture, MEP, geotechnics) in a BIM environment.
• Support quality checks of the model and drawings (consistency, clashes, standards compliance).

Required profile

• Civil or structural engineer degree, or equivalent demonstrated experience and/or training.
• Preferred: 3 years in structural BIM modelling or basic structural design, and experience in building projects (ideally medium to large scale).

Required skills

• Revit (structure) at intermediate level (essential)
• AutoCAD at intermediate/advanced level
• Basic knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel design, structural behaviour and RNE representation criteria
• Intermediate Revit modelling of concrete and steel elements, formwork and reinforcement drawings
• BIM environments and federated models; basic coordination tools such as Navisworks; collaboration platforms such as ACC or BIM 360 (desirable)
