Technical Specialist – Renewable Energy (Consultancy)

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Specialist in Renewable Energy to provide consultancy services for the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) on a short‑term basis. The role supports Global Affairs Canada’s initiatives in Bolivia, offering expert advice on renewable energy, energy transition and sustainable infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct sector assessments, market studies and investment analyses for Bolivia’s renewable energy market.
• Collaborate with government agencies, international financial institutions, development agencies and private sector stakeholders.
• Support international investors and trade promotion initiatives, evaluating commercial viability and market opportunities.
• Provide insights on Bolivia’s regulatory framework, investment climate and climate‑finance mechanisms.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in the energy sector in Bolivia, with a focus on renewable energy, energy transition or sustainable infrastructure.
• Proven track record preparing sector assessments, market studies or investment analyses.
• Extensive network of contacts within Bolivia’s energy ecosystem.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
