Travel Sales Specialist

About the role

VA Expeditions is seeking an experienced Travel Sales Specialist to manage the full sales cycle for tailor‑made journeys across South America, primarily serving U.S. travelers. The role is remote, full‑time, and aligned with U.S. Eastern Time, requiring strong English communication and deep knowledge of Peru.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and convert inbound leads from the U.S. market via phone, email, video call and other channels.
• Understand each client’s budget, interests, and travel style to design personalized itineraries.
• Prepare professional proposals, quotations and coordinate rates with DMCs and travel suppliers.
• Follow up on every sales opportunity, handle objections, and move prospects toward closing.
• Identify upselling opportunities to enhance client experience and booking value.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date information in the CRM and protect profitability by meeting margin targets.
• Work toward clear targets for sales, gross profit, lead‑to‑booking conversion and customer‑service quality.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience with travel agencies, tour operators, DMCs or inbound tourism companies.
• Proven track record selling FIT, tailor‑made, private or customized travel.
• Advanced spoken and written English.
• Exceptional knowledge of Peru as a travel destination; knowledge of other South American destinations is a plus.
• Experience designing itineraries and preparing travel quotations.
• Self‑motivated, organized, proactive and results‑oriented.

Required skills

• CRM systems experience (e.g., HubSpot or similar platforms).
• Itinerary design and travel quotation preparation.

What we offer

• Base salary of US$1,100 per month.
• Progressive commission structure ranging from 5% to 10% of gross profit, increasing with performance.
