Internal Sales Specialist – Student Retention & Collections

About the role

The Internal Sales Specialist will support student retention and payment continuity for an award‑winning online technology bootcamp. You will contact monthly‑paying students who are due or late on payments, resolve issues, and help prevent drop‑outs.

Key responsibilities

• Collect recurring payments on time while meeting collection targets.
• Resolve payment‑related concerns, handle objections, and support students in maintaining enrollment.
• Drive student retention through proactive outreach and engagement.
• Meet SLA targets by managing follow‑ups, due dates, and payment issues before churn.
• Achieve KPIs such as collection rate, save rate, and prolongation rate.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, outcomes, and follow‑up activities in the CRM.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve processes and enhance the student experience.
• Continuously develop product knowledge, negotiation, objection handling, and retention strategies.

Required profile

• Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish.
• 2+ years of experience in sales, retention, collections, customer success, or consultative sales.
• Strong communication, persuasion, and objection‑handling abilities.
• High emotional intelligence and ability to manage sensitive conversations with empathy.
• Results‑driven mindset with a proven ability to meet and exceed performance targets.
• Ability to build trust, influence decisions, and guide customers toward positive outcomes.
