Cloud Database Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a Cloud Database Administrator to design, deploy, and maintain database systems on Azure cloud infrastructure. You will lead automation initiatives, troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure high availability for our customer‑facing SaaS applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain SQL Server and Cassandra databases within Azure.
• Research, implement, and maintain cloud automation and orchestration solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks through indexing, query tuning, partitioning, and data modeling.
• Optimize deployments for Azure storage, networking, and security configurations.
• Build and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerts using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Automate schema migrations, backups, and cluster maintenance via CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for database incidents and drive remediation.
• Evaluate and implement scalability strategies for growth.
• Maintain backup/restore strategies across SQL Server and Cassandra.
• Patch and upgrade systems; participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation when needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years of SQL Server and Azure SQL administration, performance tuning, and architecture.
• 3‑5+ years of hands‑on experience with Cassandra (data modeling, cluster management, troubleshooting).
• Hands‑on Azure operations experience (Azure SQL, VM‑based SQL Server, Cassandra clusters, storage configuration, RBAC, Key Vault).
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, and cloud‑native deployment patterns.
• Proven track record supporting high‑traffic, customer‑facing SaaS applications.
