Data Engineer – Azure Databricks (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer specialized in Azure Databricks to design and maintain scalable data architectures within the Microsoft cloud. The role bridges raw data sources and actionable insights, ensuring high‑performance pipelines for analytics and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated data pipelines for large‑scale ingestion and transformation using Azure Databricks.
• Implement and optimise ETL/ELT processes to convert raw data into structured formats for downstream consumption.
• Build and manage data lakehouse architectures, guaranteeing data consistency across storage layers.
• Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to define data requirements and develop models supporting complex business queries.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks and ensure platform stability.
• Apply data governance and quality controls to uphold data integrity and security in Azure.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Proven expertise building data pipelines and ingestion systems on Azure Databricks.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data transformation and optimisation.
• Strong understanding of Azure‑native services and cloud data architecture.
• Hands‑on experience supporting analytics and reporting workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
