About the role
The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a Data Full-Stack Development Intern to support its Digital & Data Department in Lima, Peru. The intern will work on building and scaling web applications that serve CGIAR genebank data and related AI tools.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and productionize a React‑based frontend, including wizard and curator interfaces.
- Strengthen backend services using Python and Node.js, improving performance, reliability, and API design.
- Implement and maintain AWS infrastructure such as Lambda, AppSync, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, and Cognito.
- Automate data pipelines, including monthly GRIN‑Global data updates.
- Prototype AI/LLM tools, including prompt versioning, retrieval‑augmented generation experiments, and evaluation workflows.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and system monitoring.
- Ensure system security, documentation, and readiness for production deployment.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable solutions for CGIAR genebanks.
