Senior C++ Software Engineer – Remote

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to design and implement a lightweight edge runtime that can operate under disconnected, intermittent, and low‑bandwidth conditions. The role focuses on building resilient systems that discover devices, provision digital twins, and ensure reliable data store‑and‑forward at the edge.

Key responsibilities

• Develop edge runtime software using modern C++ (C++20) with emphasis on coroutines, ownership, lifetimes, and concurrency.
• Implement IoT and edge functionality that tolerates disconnected and low‑bandwidth network links.
• Design and maintain secure networking components using gRPC and mTLS.
• Create device discovery, local persistence, and store‑and‑forward mechanisms.
• Write comprehensive tests covering unit, contract, integration, boundary, restart, and negative scenarios.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ (preferably C++20) and systems‑level programming.
• Experience with Linux or Windows services and OS‑level APIs.
• Background in networking, secure transport protocols, and gRPC/mTLS.
• Advanced English communication skills.
