Senior Data Engineer

About the role

MDVIP’s Analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will act as a hybrid technical product owner. You will build and operate the data platform on Azure Databricks while working directly with business stakeholders to turn ambiguous questions into production‑ready data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the end‑to‑end data platform on Azure Databricks, covering ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers.
• Develop and operate data pipelines that integrate Salesforce, SQL Server, Snowflake, third‑party sources and a cloud‑native payments platform.
• Implement quality and trust mechanisms such as validation checks, anomaly detection, lineage tracking and thorough documentation.
• Partner with physicians, finance, member services and operations teams to translate business needs into data models, feature tables and curated datasets.
• Act as the technical product owner for your domain: own the backlog, prioritize work based on impact and ship iteratively without waiting for a separate PM.
• Leverage AI tools like Claude Code and agentic development patterns to accelerate pipeline generation, testing and deployment.

Required profile

• Proven experience building scalable data platforms and pipelines in a cloud environment.
• Strong ability to dive deep into business domains, ask the right questions and own outcomes end‑to‑end.
• Comfortable working autonomously, defining requirements and delivering solutions quickly.
