Legal Counsel – Peru & LATAM (Services)

About the role

Join Hitachi Energy's Americas legal team as a Legal Counsel supporting the Services Business Unit across Peru and Latin America. You will guide the business through contract matters, protect the company from legal risks, and collaborate with commercial, operational, and execution teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Services Business Unit through the full contract lifecycle.
• Review, draft, and structure contracts and other legal documents.
• Provide legal opinions and guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Analyze complex customer and supplier contracts.
• Lead or support complex negotiations.
• Address legal questions from business and support functions.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, rules, and external regulations.
• Deliver legal training to business teams.
• Manage litigation and disputes with external law firms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law and a license to practice in Peru.
• Minimum five years of experience in contract negotiation, corporate, and commercial matters.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• High integrity and strong ethical values.
• Business‑minded and solution‑oriented.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Residing in Peru.
