Medical Biller & Coder – Remote (Peru)

About the role

This is a remote LATAM contractor position supporting outpatient mental health center clients. The Medical Biller & Coder will translate clinical documentation into accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, enter charges, submit claims and support the revenue cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation to ensure all required elements are present before billing.
• Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes based on the documentation.
• Enter charges into the EHR or billing system and submit claims in a timely, payer‑specific manner.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance information and payer details prior to claim submission.
• Identify, correct and resubmit rejected claims, and support denial resolution activities.
• Maintain audit‑ready billing records and communicate documentation gaps or system issues to the Team Lead.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of U.S. medical billing and coding experience, preferably in outpatient mental health.
• Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10‑CM and basic HCPCS coding.
• Familiarity with U.S. insurance, Medicaid and managed‑care billing processes.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
