Senior QA Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Makai is seeking a proactive Senior QA Engineer to join its remote team. You will be the hands‑on expert driving quality initiatives, ensuring the reliability, performance, and user satisfaction of our enterprise automation platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end QA lifecycle: analyse requirements, design test strategies, execute tests and report release readiness.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, compatibility and exploratory testing on complex web applications.
• Conduct API and backend testing using Postman and SQL queries to validate business logic and data integrity.
• Manage defect lifecycle: identify, document, track and verify bug fixes in collaboration with developers.
• Champion quality best practices and provide feedback during grooming and requirement sessions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional QA experience with complex web applications.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and methodical testing approach.
• Fluent written and spoken English with excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Modern QA methodologies and test design techniques (e.g., equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis).
• Full SDLC and STLC knowledge within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban).
• Database testing with complex SQL queries (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Test automation tools: Cypress, Playwright or Selenium.
• API testing tools: Postman.
• Ability to read JavaScript, TypeScript or Python code.
