Transcription Expert – Remote, $50/hr

About the role

Mercor is seeking multilingual transcription experts to support AI research labs by evaluating and transcribing call recordings. This fully remote contract position pays up to $50 per hour and lasts 2–4 weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to scripted or semi‑structured call recordings and assess pronunciation, prosody, phrasing, and fluency.
• Score each call according to detailed guidelines to ensure consistent quality.
• Accurately transcribe audio content while meeting project deadlines.
• Work independently and asynchronously, delivering high‑quality results on schedule.

Required profile

• Native fluency in one of the listed languages.
• Ability to detect and evaluate accent deviations, pronunciation, and prosody.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in scoring.
• Prior experience in data annotation, evaluation, or AI‑related projects is preferred.

Required skills

• Excellent listening and transcription abilities.
• Familiarity with call quality assessment guidelines.
