General Science Teacher – Chemistry/Physics

About the role

San Silvestre is seeking a dedicated General Science Teacher with a focus on Chemistry and Physics to join its secondary school team. The successful candidate will foster positive teacher‑student relationships and create an engaging learning environment that supports the progress of all learners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality General Science lessons with emphasis on Chemistry and Physics concepts.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with students, encouraging curiosity and academic growth.
• Utilise Google Classroom and other Google Education tools to enhance instruction and communication.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and support the school’s learning culture.
• Supervise Extended Essays for IB students where applicable.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (Ed.M., PGCE, QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated potential or evidence of excellence in secondary‑school teaching.
• Enthusiastic, positive approach to student engagement.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google tools for Education, especially Google Classroom.
• Google Educator Level 1 or Level 2 certification.
• Experience using Atlas Curriculum Management.
