Teaching and Learning Director (Secondary)

About the role

The Director of Teaching and Learning will lead the improvement of education quality across the Middle and Senior sections of San Silvestre. This senior position focuses on strengthening pedagogy through professional development, literacy provision, and high‑quality feedback, ensuring that teaching is research‑informed and meets the diverse needs of learners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to enhance instructional practice across departments.
• Design and oversee professional development programmes for teachers.
• Lead curriculum development and ensure alignment with assessment standards.
• Analyse assessment data (GL Assessments: CAT4, PASS, PTM, PTE, NGRT) to identify equity gaps and plan corrective actions.
• Coach and support teachers in delivering engaging, equitable learning experiences.
• Manage change initiatives and drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree plus Postgraduate Certificate in Education (or equivalent).
• Proven secondary‑school teaching experience with a record of improving outcomes.
• Fluent English communication; Spanish language ability is desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership in a secondary‑school setting, preferably managing change or improvement programmes.
• Strong understanding of innovative educational practices, curriculum development, and assessment systems.
