National Consultant – Training Workshops on Low‑GWP Substances & Energy Efficiency (Peru)

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a National Consultant to design and deliver training workshops on alternative low‑global‑warming‑potential (Low‑GWP) refrigerants and energy‑efficiency measures for the refrigeration‑air‑conditioning (RAC) sector in Peru. The assignment will support the implementation of the Kigali Implementation Plan and strengthen national capacity to adopt sustainable technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training workshops on low‑GWP substances and energy‑efficiency best practices for RAC stakeholders in Peru.
• Enhance national awareness and technical capacity to integrate energy‑efficient technologies and low‑GWP refrigerants.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE), the National Ozone Unit (NOU), and UNEP’s OzonAction Branch to ensure alignment with the Multilateral Fund project.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to stakeholders for compliance with the Kigali Amendment.
• Document training outcomes and recommend actions for sustained sectoral improvements.

Required profile

• Relevant technical expertise in the RAC sector, low‑GWP refrigerants, and energy‑efficiency solutions.
• Experience delivering capacity‑building or training programmes for governmental or industry audiences.
• Familiarity with the Montreal Protocol, Kigali Amendment, and related environmental policies.
• Ability to work remotely and coordinate with national and international partners.
