Senior 🇬🇧 English

Job description

About the role

LIONPRO is looking for an entrepreneurial, commercially driven Regional Director to build its business in Latin America. This is not a takeover of an established organisation: the regional business is still at an early stage, and the role is to turn market presence into a structured, scalable and profitable operation. The role can be based in Peru, Chile or Brazil, with extensive travel between the three countries.

Key responsibilities

  • Define the commercial direction for Latin America, identify the strongest market and product opportunities and drive sales, starting hands-on (pipeline, customer relationships, negotiations) and later recruiting and leading Country and Sales Managers.
  • Help set up the local operating structure, regulatory processes, logistics, warehousing, documentation and reporting, and build relationships with authorities such as SENASA, customs and ports so that product registrations and imports are in place.
  • Lead procurement and supplier development, especially in Brazil, assessing producers and suppliers and working with the Group procurement team to secure reliable supply flows.
  • Take full responsibility for the region's budget and P&L, protecting margins, controlling costs and managing receivables, stock and working capital.
  • Build relationships with local banks and explore financing solutions such as trade finance, credit lines, investment programmes and subsidies.
  • Recruit and lead a local team, work directly with the CEO and collaborate with colleagues in sales, procurement, finance, logistics, HR and other regions.

Required profile

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on B2B sales experience, including building a pipeline, winning strategic customers and recurring revenue.
  • Experience developing a market, product area, customer portfolio, sales channel or business unit.
  • Ability to recruit, lead and develop a local team.
  • Relevant experience in international agricultural commodity trading, animal nutrition, feed ingredients or agricultural inputs is an advantage.
  • A good understanding of business relationships and decision-making in Latin America is an advantage.

Required skills

  • Confidence managing commercial targets, budgets and P&L.
  • Practical knowledge of pricing, margins, receivables, stock and working capital.
  • Knowledge of international trade, import logistics, customs, sanitary requirements and product registration.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese and English, with strong English for communication with the CEO and executive team in Riga.
