Restaurant Accountant with QuickBooks Online Expertise

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented accountant with restaurant and QuickBooks Online experience to join our collaborative team. You will work remotely alongside bookkeepers, accountants and FP&A professionals, delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting our hospitality clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain financial records, categorize expenses and manage the general ledger daily in QuickBooks Online.
• Reconcile daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts and third‑party delivery app transactions.
• Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments and keep accounts payable up to date.
• Track restaurant metrics such as food & beverage COGS and labor costs.
• Perform monthly bank and credit‑card statement reconciliations and generate basic P&L reports for owners/managers.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
• Strong, practical experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Ability to work independently as a contractor, Monday‑Friday 9 AM–5 PM EST.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment with a growth mindset.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Restaurant POS integration (e.g., Toast, Clover, Square) – a plus
• Understanding of restaurant‑specific finances such as tips, vendor management and food costs
