Sample Reception Assistant

About the role

ALST is hiring a Sample Reception Assistant in Lima. The role receives samples according to established procedures so that physical samples match the chain of custody, and prepares them for analysis. It is open to citizens or permanent residents of Peru, or those who can obtain a valid working visa.

Key responsibilities

• Receive samples following established procedures so that physical samples match the chain of custody.
• Check the physical condition of samples (volume, bottle type, preservation) and note any observations.
• Code samples correctly so they are distributed according to the My LIMS system assignment.
• Prepare and schedule shipments of samples abroad so they arrive in good condition for analysis.
• Coordinate sample shipments between sites and external laboratories to meet client requirements.
• Distribute samples to the laboratory, especially microbiological ones, to ensure they stay within their conservation time before analysis.
• Verify and record the temperature of equipment assigned to sample reception.
• Perform other tasks required by the immediate supervisor.

Required profile

• Citizen or permanent resident of the country of application, or holder of, or able to obtain, a valid working visa.
