Senior AWS Systems Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a Senior AWS Systems Administrator to join Coforge’s remote team. The role focuses on operating and evolving enterprise‑grade AWS environments that support healthcare and other regulated workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, optimise and maintain production AWS infrastructure ensuring scalability, security, reliability and high availability.
• Design and support networking architectures including VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPNs, hybrid connectivity, DNS routing and fail‑over strategies.
• Administer identity and access management (IAM, SSO, role‑based access, federation) following least‑privilege models for HIPAA/PHI environments.
• Monitor infrastructure health, respond to incidents, participate in on‑call rotations and implement observability best practices.
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code and automation initiatives using Terraform, AWS CDK or similar tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of hands‑on AWS administration in production environments with ownership of technical decisions.
• Experience managing HIPAA/PHI‑sensitive workloads and regulated cloud environments.

Required skills

• AWS services: IAM, VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, Route 53, Direct Connect, Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, CloudWatch.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, AWS CDK.
• Linux system administration and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, IPsec).
• Identity management: SSO, RBAC, federation.
• Scripting languages: Python, Bash, TypeScript.
• Compliance knowledge: HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2, ONC.
• Tools: Tailscale, NordLayer, Control Tower, Service Control Policies.
