Senior Ruby Engineer – Remote Work

About the role

As a Senior Ruby Engineer you will build and scale both monolithic and modular Ruby on Rails applications, acting as a technical pillar for the engineering team. You will ensure delivery of high‑quality, performant and maintainable software while optimizing complex data interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails and industry best practices.
• Architect and optimise complex database schemas and queries with PostgreSQL or MySQL via ActiveRecord.
• Implement background processing and asynchronous task management with Sidekiq or Resque.
• Build and maintain secure, well‑documented RESTful APIs for front‑end and third‑party integrations.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using RSpec to achieve high test coverage.
• Lead deployment and maintenance of applications in AWS environments, ensuring system availability and performance.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience focused on Ruby on Rails.
• Proven ability to build and scale monolithic and modular Rails applications.
• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL or MySQL and ActiveRecord.
• Experience with background job processing using Sidekiq or Resque.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and AWS deployment strategies.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
