High School Spanish Teacher

About the role

The school is seeking a dynamic High School Spanish Teacher to deliver advanced literacy and critical analysis instruction in a supportive environment. The role involves teaching Spanish A and B, as well as foundation grades 9‑10 and International Baccalaureate (IB) Spanish courses.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ critical thinking and communication skills in Spanish.
• Teach a range of courses including Spanish A, Spanish B, foundation grades 9‑10, and IB Spanish.
• Assess student progress using standards‑based grading and use assessment data to inform instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of both high‑achieving learners and those requiring additional support.
• Integrate web and Google applications to enhance classroom learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop unit and lesson plans.

Required profile

• Valid teaching license or equivalent certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field.
• Minimum two years of full‑time Spanish teaching experience; experience with IB and OPP curricula preferred.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Strong collaboration, growth mindset, initiative, problem‑solving, enthusiasm and communication skills.
