Upper Elementary Homeroom Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Upper Elementary Homeroom Teacher to create a flexible, supportive classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth for students in the upper elementary grades.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans that address diverse learning needs and language proficiencies.
• Assess student progress regularly and adapt instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with grade‑level team members, EAL specialists, and learning support staff to plan units, design assessments, and discuss student outcomes.
• Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Participate in moderation, analysis of student work, and continuous improvement of teaching practices.

Required profile

• BA or MA in Education with certification as an elementary school teacher.
• Minimum three years of elementary teaching experience.
• Strong proficiency in English.
• Commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional development.

Required skills

• Experience with backward‑design unit planning.
• Strong content knowledge in numeracy, literacy, and language development.
• Familiarity with a wide range of formative assessment strategies.
• Ability to employ varied instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
