Azure Data Engineer (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

Bluelight is seeking an Azure Data Engineer to join a fast‑growing data engineering team. The role is fully remote for candidates located in Latin America and focuses on building reliable, high‑performance data pipelines using Python (PySpark) and Azure Synapse Analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes in Azure Synapse Notebooks and Pipelines.
• Implement data warehousing solutions, including star schemas, facts, and dimensions, on an MPP SQL pool.
• Extract data from REST APIs, SQL databases, and CSV files.
• Apply Data Fabric concepts such as data lakes, lakehouses, delta lakes, and data cataloging.
• Collaborate with data architects to create data models that meet business needs.
• Set up data quality checks and validation routines.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and tune pipelines to meet SLAs.
• Monitor ETL jobs, troubleshoot issues, and document processes.
