Cloud Alliances Business Development Lead

About the role

Canonical is hiring a Cloud Alliances Business Development Lead to coordinate go‑to‑market activities with tier‑1 cloud partners. The role bridges Canonical’s sales, marketing and alliances teams with cloud partners to drive joint product roadmaps, revenue growth and Ubuntu adoption across the Americas.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, engineering, alliance and marketing teams at cloud partners to align on open‑source strategies.
• Capture partner requirements, evaluate gaps and identify Canonical opportunities.
• Coordinate messaging, content creation and launch plans with marketing and product teams.
• Create partner‑ and customer‑facing materials such as reference architectures, joint blueprints, webinars and white papers.
• Drive Ubuntu adoption within alliance accounts and enable partner teams through training and support.
• Influence cloud customers to build with Canonical technology and provide quarterly and yearly revenue forecasts.

Required profile

• Strong academic background (high school and university) with a Bachelor’s degree in science, technology or engineering.
• Experience in software development and system architecture.
• Customer‑facing experience in software engineering, product management, business development or technology strategy.
• Excellent communication skills across all stakeholder levels, from individual contributors to the C‑suite.
• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a remote‑first environment.
