Data Full-Stack Development Internship

About the role

The International Potato Center (CIP) seeks a Data Full-Stack Development Intern to join its Digital & Data Department in Lima, Peru. The role focuses on building and scaling web applications that support CGIAR genebank initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and productionize a React‑based frontend, including wizard and curator interfaces.
• Strengthen backend services using Python and Node.js, improving performance, reliability, and API design.
• Implement and maintain AWS infrastructure (Lambda, AppSync, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Cognito).
• Automate data pipelines, including monthly GRIN‑Global data updates.
• Prototype AI/LLM tools such as prompt versioning, retrieval‑augmented generation experiments, and evaluation workflows.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and system monitoring.
• Ensure system security, documentation, and readiness for production deployment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable solutions for CGIAR genebanks.
