Executive Housekeeper

About the role

The Executive Housekeeper is a senior member of the shipboard management team, responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction across the vessel.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain brand‑standard cleanliness and presentation in guest staterooms, balconies, corridors, officer cabins, laundry, lockers and storage areas.
• Lead, motivate and coach a diverse housekeeping team, delivering training both in‑class and on‑the‑job.
• Coordinate the division schedule with shoreside support and manage staffing needs.
• Oversee laundry operations, ensuring the Laundry Master has the tools, training and resources required.
• Develop and monitor yearly budgets for housekeeping and laundry cost centres, including consumables and revenue streams such as laundry services and floral carts.
• Drive performance against guest satisfaction scores, quality reviews, health inspections and operational audits.
• Stay informed on ship events and special functions to provide accurate information to guests and staff.
• Maintain cleaning equipment, supplies and ensure proper usage through regular training.
• Facilitate departmental meetings, handover notes and other communication to ensure seamless operations.

Required profile

• Professional and courteous demeanor aligned with Royal Caribbean’s “Anchored in Excellence” philosophy.
• Proven leadership experience in a large‑scale housekeeping environment.
• Strong coaching and mentorship abilities.
• Excellent organizational and budgeting skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with hotel directors and other division heads.
