Global Head of Cloud Alliances

About the role

Canonical is seeking a senior leader to own and expand its global cloud partnership strategy. Reporting to the VP of Global Alliances, the role will drive revenue growth, joint go‑to‑market initiatives and executive relationships across major public cloud providers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute Canonical’s global cloud partner strategy, forecasting and driving bookings worldwide.
• Build cross‑functional relationships to ensure unified technology and market execution.
• Inspire and guide teams to accelerate revenue growth with cloud partners.
• Establish and nurture executive‑level relationships with key cloud partners.
• Lead product, marketing and sales alignment to bring offerings from concept to execution at scale.

Required profile

• Strong academic background with an undergraduate degree in a technical discipline.
• Proven track record of exceeding expectations and delivering outstanding results.
• Leadership experience with a focus on mentorship and skills development.
• Passion for technology demonstrated through personal projects or initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, able to energize teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events.
• Deep understanding of open‑source ecosystems, Ubuntu and the competitive landscape.
• Self‑motivated, autonomous and disciplined with a results‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Linux (Debian or Ubuntu) expertise.
• Experience with open‑source technologies, particularly Ubuntu.
• Solid background in the public cloud sector.
